Ka rere te awa, ka rere te reo

Puta atu ki te ao

Like the river that flows to the sea,

Our language flows to the world.

Like our ancestral Waikato River that has flowed for hundreds of years. This river is likened to the blood that flows within us. It flows with strength, pride and dignity. Our language should also flow with the strength, pride and dignity like the Mighty Waikato, and when it encounters the Tasman Sea, it is then carried out into the world.
